Happy Tree Friends Free Download!

Holy Smoke!! It's been past 5 months already since I last update my entry here. Sorry for those who keep on tracking my blog. @.@

There's a main reason that doesn't allow me to update my blog regularly. Lack of Wi-Fi access around my campus. The administrator is trying to setup the Wi-Fi access throughout the campus area. I'm just crossing my finger for the completion.

For those Happy Tree Friends fans out there, who wants to download the episodes into their PC or mobile phone, instead of just watching them ONLINE from their official site, I bring a great news for you!

I had found a website that updated REGULARLY, synchronized with the official site where you can download, YES, DOWNLOAD the entire HTF episodes and other goodies directly into your PC. The file format is purely .SWF, so their file size is relatively SMALL, yet their quality is maintained at the highest. Can't complain much about the speed either. I can get 50kbps via a 1MBPS ADSL line connection.

There's a downside though. The site is in, erm, denmark? You'll need to register an account there before you can download their files. Thankfully their registration form is quite easy and familiar, just like the English forum. Just fill in necessary part, activating your account and Voila, you can download and enjoy the HTF episodes with all your pleasure. No more online streaming...!

FYI, I'm now trying to get myself a 160GB iPod Classic for my music pleasure. Hopefully I can find one at the retail store near Malacca. Adios!

Oops, almost forgot about the link!

For a boy who dislike outdoor activities and cherish the phrase "home sweet home" such as myself, going for a Pre-U lifetstyle means parting with my closest friends and family.

Yes, like MOST people who appealed for entry in matriculation, I'm currently feeling nervous yet exciting right now. Nervous because I do not know what lies ahead of my path ; exciting because I can finally try to live on my own, without relying on my mom and dad.

As you can see, or probably not if you haven't view my profile yet, my hometown is in Segamat, Johor. And guess what? I got an offer to matric at Penang - KMPP (Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang)! Consider the distance which will take approx. 7 to 9 hours of car journey, going there is also a problem. In fact, I had hear comments from people saying that KMPP is one of the best matriculation center available in our country if compared with other. I don't know whether this is true, or not. However, I do agree that living in a duty free country and a country far from my hometown will definitely increase my experience by a TON.

When it comes to living outside by your own, friend is indeed played an important role. Based on this fact, I hope I will manage to find some good friends when being there. Since there is only 10% of chinese students there, I think the odd for me to live with my another 3 roommates (malay) will probably higher than living with Chinese. I'm not a person that is race discrimination. It's just... Well, it will be quite comfortable if your roommates is with the same races as you did, don't you think so too?

By the way, wish me luck ya? I'm going for KMPP due 29th May 2007. It's kinda rush for me though. Thought I can enjoy my 2 weeks of holiday. Well, guess it's fate!

Teachers Day

May 16, 2007 - Teachers Day

Nothing much to say about it (:gulp) except:

Fun Facts

Feel bored? Nothing to do? Want to improve your common sense by a tiny bit? Then the following facts may get you interested with. I just type whatever I currently being able to think of.

- During a meeting conference, nobody really cares on what you (speaker) said unless you had made a word mistake.

- If you can't categorize a thing, just label it under 'Miscellaneous', it can't possibly go wrong.

- If train station is a place where train stop, bus station is a place where bus stop, then what is a work station?

- Most people doesn't really care about how a thing is made. As long as it's usable, they won't care for the further details.

- If you are a project manager or planning assistant, you may sometimes make a few mistake while planning. If there's anything wrong and couldn't go as planned, just don't forget to mention the word "technical problem". No one will ask you further details about it.

- If you are not computer literate, never mind. When your computer malfunctioned, then you'll seek advice from other sources and probably become computer literate.

Digimon World DS

The first Digimon game released by Bandai for the Nintendo DS. Guess Bandai also took steps to monopoly the marketing for NDS.

Unlike the game title implies, Digimon World DS is rather different from Digimon World (PS). In fact, both of the game has but only one thing in common - raise digimon. The only things that matters is you do not need to concern about your Digimon life age, care for it's food, bring it to bladder, etcetera. Personally I did not like Digimon World (PS) as I'll need to take care of my Digimon every second, starting from the moment I load my game file. So if you are going for toilet or even answering a phone call for a moment, make sure you Pause the game to prevent yourself to miss a certain event that may occur to your Digimon.

So in Digimon World DS, it's a contrary of Digimon World (PS). You just need to level up your Digimon, train it or leave it in the Farm, then you're up to go. No need to extra concern like the Sims. Although Digimon World DS include three characters from Digimon Savers (which you'll meet in the beginning quest) such as Touma, it's a different plot. You take part not as a DATS, but as a normal tamer that being 'sucked' into the Digimon World without any Digivice at all. You get it at the moment after you arrived in the Digimon World. I couldn't figure out how on earth is this happening though, to be teleported inside a Digimon World without a Digivice? Anyways, One you're in, you'll be given a certain briefing and then you'll be choosing your first partner. Any partner will do as you can obtain them in the game later.

Unlike Pokemon game, there's no such thing as DigiBall to capture or be friend with a Digimon you met. In fact, you scans them. Once the scanning percentage is over 100%, you can digiconverting them to their physical form by accessing the menu in the DigiFarm. If you had played Digimon World 4 for PS2, the DigiCentral is almost alike with DW4. With portal and such.

Like the other Digimon game, but unlike Pokemon game, level doesn't matter. The only things that matter is the Stats. Just as Digimon World 2 (PS), there's a level cap for each digimon. In order to maximize the level cap (aptitude is the term in the game), you'll need to keep on Digivolve and De-generate your Digimon until it satisfied you. For a perfectionist, level 99 is the max and the max value for each stats is 999. The level and stats cap is rather moderate and acceptable compared to DW2 which the level cap is 999 and the max stats is 9999. It's just insane for one to raise such Digimon without any cheat codes.

If you want to complete the quest, you'll probably feel bored after doing the first few quest. For every quest, it'll whether required you to go looking for a certain items in a dungeon or just talking to someone in the DigiCentral to obtain the items. The same process go through for most of the quest, or should I say, EVERY QUEST. So why bother to do the quest anyways? Well, you'll earn Tamer Points for each quest. After you had reached a certain Tamer Points, you can talk to a professor in the DigiCentral and you'll be given some items.

There's no need to level up your Digimon to the maximum level, plan your Digimon Team for battle or any other things like you did with Pokemon games. In Digimon World DS, you can only do a Egg Matching event with other friends via WFC. For digimon battling, you can only access the wireless connection features, with other friends near you. So you'll mostly spent the time with your hardly raise Digimon for nothing aside from completing the Digimon Gallery.

For the battle scene. You can never see your Digimon sprite during battle. In fact, you can only see your enemy sprite. The good thing is the illustration for each Digimon is great and the size is rather logic. You start the battle with only 3 Digimon. If all of your 3 Digimon had been KO'ed, then you'll have the option to exchange them with another 3 of your relief Digimon (if available). All the enemy HP will never exceed 999 except for bosses. So just as I mentioned above, there's no need to max out your Digimon stats. You'll end the battle in merely 3-5 seconds when you're progressing in the later of the game. The enjoyment and excitement is not as fun as Pokemon.

In conclusion, Digimon World DS is worth playing when the game is released last year. If you had decided to go to a local store for this game, don't. Just wait for another dual release of the game - Digimon World: Moonlight and Digimon World: Moonlight (both name in Japanese) as the next installment include a wide range of improvement. The US release date is due to confirmation and will probably be released in 2007 September. Just stick to Pokemon Diamond or Pearl until then.

Form 6 and reminiscence from the memories

The day has finally come. After 4 months of hibernating, I finally get to school today, to study for Form 6. Quite frankly though, I do not expect myself to study in the same school when I was in Form 5. Yet things works rather different in reality, where we must prepare for the impossible. Sometimes thing may not end up just as we thought.

Reason why I'm in Form 6? It's quite obvious isn't it? I did not get an offer to go for matriculation. In fact, only 3 students in my school - SMK Paduka Tuan get the chances to further their studies there. As we all know, results in SPM doesn't really matter. They just choose the students randomly and of course, giving the main priority for the bumiputera (couldn't figure the English term for this).

Besides matriculation, I had also apply for the JPA scholarship and I actually got an offer for JPA interview. However, I did not go for it. When I told this great oppurtunity to my fellow friends and relative, the answer will always be a tie - Such a waste! So why did I turned in down at the first place? It's rather shame for me to state my reason here but I'll mention it anyways, it's a blog ya? Firstly, I lack of self-confidence and one can hardly hear me speak English in the public. I just couldn't. Speaking of public speaking and self-confidence, I'm also afraid of the MUET (Malaysian University English Test) which require all Form 6 students to sit for. I have this thought for a long time, after I receive the offer. The students that are going for the interview will definitely speaking like a professor and possess a strong self-confidence within them. I must admit that my English speaking is rather average and I probably remain silence among the interviewers, especially since many eyes focus on me. Nowadays it's quite rare for a teenagers aged between 17-18 in Malaysia to actually do a public speaking with no fear at all. Perhaps I'm just one of them. Perhaps studying in Form 6 in the next 2 years can build my confidence at least to a few stages above.

As we all know, all Form 6 students are required to attend a week of orientation for it's a part of JPN plan. In my case, sorry, in all Form 6 students case, it started today. In a session there's been a slide show displaying the reason why we're all in Form 6. Among them are: Does not get an offer for matriculation and does not got the financial support. I just couldn't find my answer elsewhere in the screen - DESTINY. Yeah, it's my fate and destiny to be here in Form 6 and I just couldn't say why or how. It's just a part of God plans.

Challenging as it might sound to be, many top students are transfered to my school. This next two years will definitely be a harsh year for me. If there's so many competitors, I must struggle myself to join with them by studying even harder.

If only I can return to the past, I will definitely go back to the primary school, where the sweetest moment lies... -

- Without worries (only need to focus on UPSR). Whether the result good or not, one will definitely get a chance to further their studies in secondary school.
- Can always depend to the parents. Parents will always make the best choice for us, depends on their financial support. One will not need to work outdoor to earn a living. Everything we had such as clothes, toys come from the income from our parents.
- No need to plan far enough. Our parents will do the job for us
and many more...

Just imagine what will your childhood look like? Do you still prefer the adult life that you enjoy now, or perhaps...?

Got the $$, but couldn't spent it

Just as I thought, there's no local store nearby that sell any Wireless router? Can you ever imagine it? Guess I have no choice but to purchase it online...

Aside from that, I also went to my secondary school today with only one purpose, to enroll for Form 6. Quite frankly, I didn't expect myself to further my studies in Form 6. According to wikipedia, STPM can be considered as the most difficult Pre-U examinations worldwide (A Level). You can see how hard it is eh?

Hopefully entering Form 6 will be the ideal choice for me in the next 2 years. The result? Well, I didn't dare to think that far...

Leave any comment at chatter box or here if you had take the test above. Tell me what you feel~~

Much anticipation for one product, yet it didn't last long

Started from yesterday I had but only 1 thing playing in my mind - to buy myself a Linksys Wireless router WRG54G near my town area, Segamat, Johor.

Today, with the money in my pocket, I happily entered each computer store. What I never thought is among the 3 computer stores I visited, none of them sell it! Man, is Segamat a totally rural area or what? Why can't they just order maybe 1 or 2 of those popular brand router in their store for people like me? Maybe they never target those tech savvy guy such as myself /giggles.

If only I live in KL, JB or any other busy streets right now, I won't be frustrated by sitting in front of my computer and posting such blog...

Oo my Linksys, when will you come to ME?

Somebody please teleport me to somewhere else, Ouendan!!

Previous PKMN Pearl, now PKMN Diamond

Well, nothing much to say today. Just started playing Pokemon Diamond with a female character /giggles. I had started to play PKMN Pearl since two weeks ago with a male character and it's nothing much to do right now except leveling and battling at Battle Tower. So why not try out PKMN Diamond with female character for some candy eye-catching scene. The bag for female character sure is different compared with male character bag.

If only I can gain Wi-Fi access in my home, it would be great. No Wi-Fi router, no WFC...

Still consider whether I should study Form 6 or college. Argh, couldn't make up my mind. Ideas?

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Quick Guides

Before I begin, I'm sure many PokeFans had grabbed their hand on Pokemon Diamond/Pearl just as I did. Those who played Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will surely go to GameFaqs to search for topic related to their questions such as version exclusive pokemon, where to catch, how to catch, where to evolve, etc..

However, the board topics in GameFaqs is just totally huge. Most of the time you won't be able to find your answer there though. So I had decided to spent some of my free time compiling those information for sharing purpose.

* If you have any question, feel free to leave comment and I'll reply to your answer as soon as possible.

-> Adventure Tips

1. Before you begin your adventure, just like all the previous PKMN version, you'll have the option to choose one pokemon from the three starters. For beginner, I suggest you to choose Chimchar as it's final evolution which is dual type (Fire/Fight) will get you through the entire game with hasty speed without any problem.

2. Leveling your starter PKMN in the early stage of the game is highly recommended if you do not plan to level up your PKMN in the later stage, which could take more time. You should train till at least lv 10 with your starter PKMN before advancing to Sandgem town. It might take 5-10 minutes but it's worth it.

3. For multi-purpose HM PKMN, try and capture Bidoof (Cut), Marill (Surf/Waterfall) and Geodude (Rock Climb, Strength, Rock Smash) as soon as you meet them as they're a helpful to learn those HM and easy to find.

4. Do not run away from Trainer battle. If you meet a trainer, fight him/her. You could gain money and experience by battling them. Besides, you can complete your Sinnoh Pokedex by battling them as each trainer uses different type of PKMN, thus make you to get National Pokedex even sooner. Note that the requirements to get a National Pokedex is to meet all 150 PKMN in the Sinnoh Pokedex. If you battled every single trainer throughout the game, you'll find yourself to have met 149 PKMN in your Sinnoh Pokedex. For the #150, simply fly to Celestial Town and talk to a grandmother in the northern side house and you'll see a picture of Dialga (for Pearl) or Palkia (for Diamond)

5. Depend on your playing style, training one PKMN (starter) is sufficient enough to beat Elite Four (lv 65+) with the help of Full Restore and Max Elixer/Ether.

6. Do not waste your Masterball on version exclusive PKMN such as Dialga (Diamond) and Palkia (Pearl) as their catching rate is higher than other legendaries.

7. Always equipped yourself with Antidote, Burn Heal, Paralyze Heal (each 5) to save your time for going to PKMN center just to heal those status effect.

-> Battle Tips
1. In order to win a battle with the short amount of time possible, always choose a move that will gain 'super effective' hits to them. You can learn more about each type weaknesses at gamefaqs.com

2. Stat raising move such as Defense Curl, Agility may be useless for many novice PKMN players at the beginning stats. However, those effect may just turn the tide of the entire battle if the PKMN had reached LV 100.

3. Nature, Individual Values (IV) and Effort Values (EV) are the three most important aspect for raising a good PKMN. Refer to gamefaqs for more information about that.

4. Always make use of the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) move as it will give you 1.5x more attack power if the type of the move match the type of the PKMN.

5. Held Items, especially Berries will be able to change the result of a battle.

6. When battling an opponent, you must be very good in predict which move will they use to counterattack in order to strive. Switching PKMN will sometimes proof to be an ideal choice when the foe's PKMN seems to be a disadvantage to your current battling PKMN. And most importantly, never underestimate your opponent. You'll never know what can a Pichu do :P

7. Even if a move does not count towards STAB, it may sometimes necessary to learn just to counter your foe's PKMN. For example, it's never wrong for Tyranitar (Rock/Dark) to learn ThunderFang as your opponent may use Water type PKMN to counter your PKMN. Even STAB does not apply to that move, you could somehow lower your foe's HP to a considerable good amount of HP left.

8. In the fourth gen, all move set had been arranged in a new way, which include an special icon behind each move set - Physical and Special. For Physical move, the attack base value is count towards the Attack stats for a PKMN and for Special move, the attack base value is count towards the Special Attack stats for a PKMN.

9. Always use a move that utilize the highest stats for you PKMN. E.g. - it's a 100% bad choice for Alakazam to learn Thunderpunch, Icepunch as the attack value is count towards the Attack stats. It's a bad choice as Alakazam has the highest stats on it's Special Attack value compared to it's Attack value.

10. Try and make a team consisting of one or two defensive PKMN just to inflict status effects upon your foes. A Physical/Special sweeper team will likelihood to lose very easily without a defensive/tanker.

11. Your team should not consist with only one type. Try and make a team with a combination of all different type.

-> PKMN type
1. Dual Type PKMN is good as there can have at least 2 STAB move set with them. However, they'll also seems to have double weaknesses at the same time.

2. Dual Type PKMN can somehow cover their other type weaknesses, thus making a super-effective hits (2x) for one of it's type covered. As a result, it will count as normal damage (1x). For example, Metagross. As we all know, Psychic PKMN is weak against Dark attack and will get super effective hits from Dark attacks. However, with it's Steel type covered which Dark move will get Not effective hits with, the damage will count as Normal damage (1x). Isn't it just cool?

If you had bought an original cartridge for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, I'm afraid the following content may be not suitable for you to view as ruining your mood and craft a deep scar inside your head skull.

PokeSav, also known as Pokemon Cheat Editor, is a program developed by a hacker from Nintendo. It's just a rumor about the developer and I had not yet gain extra information about it.

Before you trying to use PokeSav, you will need to extract your Pokemon D/P .sav file to your computer, then open it by using PokeSav. In other words, unless you're using flashcart to play Pokemon D/P, you are unable to use PokeSav to modify your pokemon data.

PokeSav seems to be gaining popularity over the Internet because of the fact that you can edit EVERYTHING regarding your .sav file. For example, you can modify your pokemon IV, EV, nature, moveset, captured date, captured place, obtained ribbons and so many more. It's not only limit to those though, you can modify your own trainer name, money and even event flags. Nothing is impossible to modify with PokeSav!

However, PokeSav seems to be causing an uproar anywhere in the Net. The arguing is even worse among original Pokemon D/P cartridge user as they cannot seems to tolerate with such cheating device. About 40% of the original D/P user claimed that they're afraid to trade at WFC via Wi-Fi as they scared to be trading with a hacked pokemon.

To cope with this problem, Nintendo had took step, minor step to be precise. User can only trade LEGIT pokemon among each other. Legit is pokemon that had correct information about captured location, trainer information and correct moveset that can be learned by it (egg move included). In other words, you cannot trade Raichu with Hydro Pump as one of it's moveset with another user as it will be considered as NON-LEGIT.

When Wi-Fi battling, you can still use those Pokemon which you modified by using PokeSav with one condition - All moveset, pokemon information are LEGIT. (Thanks Phx_Cyp for the info)

Pokemon Facts, or perhaps it is?

Before you read, I must clerify that the facts below are solely written by me for humor purpose. Do not take it seriously. However, if there's any reason that the fact below is correct, leave a comment here to share your thoughts.

P/S: The chronology below may also occur in your own life, :P
Around the people worldwide (regardless of age):

90% know what is Pokemon
80% played Pokemon
70% know the effective and weaknesses for each type of pokemon
60% know the right combination of moves/combo moves for their pokemon
50% know that lv 100 pokemon will always beat pokemon (which is the same type as it) with lower LV than it, which is WRONG
40% know the importance of Natures.
30% know the existance of IV, EV training
20% search the Net for Natures, IV and EV training after know that they're actually exists!
15% know the true secret behind Hidden Power
10% trying their best to find the right value for their Hidden Power
5% trying to improve their battle strategy by considering and utilizing the knowledge of Nature, IV, EV, held items, pokemon type (or dual type) and moveset.
0.5% trying to exploit weaker trainer while wi-fi battling

and that leaves only YOU, which is counted as the final 0.5% for trying to ... ?

A) Become a Pokemon Master
B) Think that Pokemon is still childish, but change your mind after figure out the secret behind Pokemon games, which is indeed a great game developed by great company. Not a game with just choosing attack, watch foes hp to drop down, or KO them
C) Waiting for the next release of Pokemon title, probably Pokemon Topaz & Garnet?
D) Trying to recall the last pokemon game you had played, experience you had gained, etc..

Advance Wars: Dual Strike

AW - Advance Wars

First it's Advance Wars (GBA), then the second sequel Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising (GBA). And now, the moment for all Advance Wars fans are waiting for is finally come true. Let's give an applause for Advance Wars: Dual Strike! The first AW debut game for the Nintendo DS. I must admit that it's one of the game that drive me into buying a Nintendo DS for myself.

Do not concern yourself too much for thinking that you won't even know the storyline well, especially if you had not played the 2 AW game for the GBA before. Although AWDS doesn't provide any major flashback of the previous game storyline, you wouldn't mind to bother as some characters will provide little information about their background throughout your game play.

In the beginning, your military instructor, Nell's sister (Nell is the main millitary instructor/guide for the 2 previous AW title), Rachel is going to brief you through the game. Do not worry if you hadn't played AW before as she will guide you throughout the game. Quite frankly though, experienced user such as myself didn't find that tutorial to be any help as the control is simple.

As you can see, AWDS is designed exclusively for NDS. So it must somehow implement the use of Dual Screen right? Dual Screen - Dual Strike, any ideas what it's all about? In certain campaign, you'll be force to take control in both screen. That's right, you can use up to 2 CO's at a same time in a battle. Likewise your opponent will also do the same. In normal campaign, certain campaign will automatically setup a CO for you. However in the hard campaign, you can choose your CO's for battle. No more restriction.

So control both screen at the same time, how is it possible? Well, the mechanic behind it is pretty simple. Since your main goal is to defeat the lower screen (touch screen) by either capturing the HQ or demolish all enemy units, you wouldn't bother to defeat the enemy on the top screen eh? I'm afraid you're wrong. In certain campaign, you'll need to destroy the enemy units on the top screen in order to destroy the barrier for the enemy structure in the lower screen. Simply put, unless you managed to destroy the enemy units in the top screen, you won't be able to give a single scratch to a single enemy structure in the lower screen. Hope it doesn't sound confusing for you.

Throughout your game play in normal campaign, you may think you can't use the previous AW CO's such as Jack, Nell, Drake, Kanbei and more just as I did. Apparently unless you managed to beat through all 26 missions in normal campaign, you won't be able to use them. In other words, you can use them in hard campaign which you can buy from Hachi via access to the [Battle Map] in the main menu. Every CO's has their own pros and cons. For example:
  • Jess has higher offensive value for ground type mobile while the offensive and defensive value for naval and air units has been slightly lower, ever than Colin perhaps?
  • Colin can built units at a cheaper cost. The only downside is the unit firepower had been slightly downgraded.
Single and Full CO's power still applies in this game. There's even a mode called Tag Force which you can only access if two CO's (in a same screen) has the full CO's power with them. With this, you can move 2 turn in 1 day. Whether using or not using it is your call as building full CO power for both CO's is definitely going to be longer and tough. For mission which you can use 2 CO's, you can change the current CO's. However, keep in mind that it will end your turn. So change CO's only after you had assigned your units for attack/move/capture. There's no undo button for every AW game. So use your CO wisely.

For your information, the normal campaign missions in the previous game, especially for AW: Black Hole Rising is far more harder than you thought it could be compared to AW:DS. However, if you're willing to challenge your command & conquer skill in AW:DS, you can try and beat the Hard Campaign. As the name 'Hard' implies, the mission is really hard and you'll mostly need a more strategic ways to win it. Getting a S rank in all the missions in Hard Campaign seems a little bit impossible for me, unless you are good at it.

Whenever you managed to clear a mission, you will be graded based on 3 main aspect - Power, Technique and Speed. For those who doesn't know how they're being judged of, I'll simply brief you:
  • Power - Amount of enemy units that you're managed to demolish/destroy
  • Technique - Amount of your own units that are destroyed by enemy units. The lower the number of your destroyed units, the better. Luckily it's judged by percentage. So if you think you are able to clear a mission in that turn, try and build some cheap units such as infrantry unit, recon in order to increase the percentage.
  • Speed - The amount of days that you need to clear a mission. It's obvious that the sooner the better.
For you to acquire a [S] Ranking for a mission, you'll need to have at least or equal to 280 points. Extra points for damaging enemy units such as Oziom doesn't count in.

Another addition to boost the game excitement would be the increment for the units. Additional units such as Oziom, Stealth, Carrier, Megatank, and even flying missile had been added to this game. For further information about those units, just play the game and eventually you'll find out the specifications about them.

Since there are many unlockables features in the game, the replay value for this game is definitely high. Nothing much to say about the unlockables, just figure it out yourself as I would not like to spoil the fun for you.

I think the great deal about this game would be nothing more than the Wi-Fi features. Although I hadn't get a chance to test it since I hadn't got myself a Wi-Fi router or Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, I got a hunch that it's the major attraction for the popularity for this game. With such features, you can battle any AW user worldwide without knowing that this world is indeed, what do we call again? Oh, LARGE!

Beated Castlevania: PoR and Pokemon Pearl

Man, glad I'm managed to beat both game in a same day as the fact than I'm sick today (fever, sneezing and sore-throat)

I must first admit than the boss in Castlevania: PoR - Dracula is definitely a far more weak than the previous title such as Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA). The attacking pattern is pretty straight forward to see and it's very easy to figure it out once you saw it once.

On the other hand, the Elite Four in Pokemon Pearl is surely dazzling and amazed me. I thought the battlefield where they're standing would be nicely detailed and designed appropriate with their pokemon type. For example, I would imagine a forest-like battlefield for the first Elite Four (Aaron). However, if you somehow managed to beat all Elite Four, prepare to meet the Champion. Now here's what I'm talking about, roawr! The battlefield where the Champion was standing is just amazing enough, I wouldn't like to spoil you. It's just great and you'll get the feeling that this would be your final battle, at least for the time being... I couldn't complaint more about the music while battling in Pokemon League. The music composer - Go Ichiyose did it well again! He'll never let us down, even once with every single Pokemon League music he composed. Nicely heard, nicely done.

Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 vs. Yu-Gi-Oh! Spirit Caller

WC - Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007
SC - Yu-Gi-Oh! Spirit Caller

I guess the fancy quote "Newer version of stuff always beat old stuff" applies to Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 over Yu-Gi-Oh! Spirit Caller. For those who doesn't know, Yu-Gi-Oh! Spirit Caller is the first debut of Yu-Gi-Oh! game for Nintendo DS. As we all know, the first debut doesn't always sounds too good, at least not as best as the sequel eh?

Unlike Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga (first sequel of mario & luigi co-op game for GBA which many people claims that it's a game far more better than the second sequel for NDS - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (second sequel for NDS), Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 seems to prove just the opposite thing. In fact, in the latest addition for the game, many cards had been added and as you may recalled Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2006 for GBA which is a non-RPY style game, compared to Yu-Gi-Oh! Spirit Caller.

The battle mechanics and graphic still applies the same for both game - The summoned monsters will appeared in 3D (although it's not well-rendered, it's still nice looking) and the blasting, slashing battle scene still the same. Don't misunderstanding here, you won't see the monsters battling each other as seen on TV anime. Instead, the only thing you'll see is two cards, both left and right, and the blasting (usually dragon, demon), slashing (warrior of course, bugs) graphic scene are done when you're being attacked or attacking other monsters cards. You can't expect to see those monsters attacking sprites would you? Consider the fact that NDS doesn't equipped with high-end 3D graphic card or what-so-ever. Even if Konami did consider to implement the battling sprites for the game, it would take up many space as the game normally would, 1 or 2 GB perhaps?

Nevertheless, WC is definitely a better choice than SC for most Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. The main reason is probably the elimination of RPG style game (SC) which required the user to search and pinpoint any nearby enemies to initiate a battle. As in WC, your opponent is pretty straight forward for you to choose. Just select 'Free Duel' from the main menu, select an opponent (consisting of monsters and humans) then battle. Frankly I couldn't figured how on the earth does a monster duel you? Choosing their card with their tiny or fat fingers than you could barely imagine it would be true. Anyways, each enemies own a deck that are appropriate for their look and their deck name. For example, for a fire fox, it will use deck that mostly consist of Fire type monsters and so on.

The password features doesn't really work in the same mechanic as the GBA version of Yu-Gi-Oh! game. If you think you can just input the password for the card (you'll probably get those password via GameFaq just as I did) and use them in the early battle to gain easy victory, then I'm afraid you're wrong. In WC (I haven't tested the password features with SC yet, sorry), even though you had entered the correct password for a card, let's say 72302403 for [Sword of Revealing Light], you still can't get it unless you had at least one card with the same name or unlocked a packlist that contained the card. Other than that, I'm afraid you just can't get it.

As you may recalled a features in all Yu-Gi-Oh! game - Forbidden card, it's still apply the same in WC and SC. In this time, the forbidden card number just grow larger and larger. You might think it's bad eh? No more Raigeki, Pot of Greed... However, if you think in other perspective, neither you or your opponent can use it! So you can turn this as your advantage. No more need to fear your opponent for using Raigeki upon your monsters.

For me, I really isn't a Yu-Gi-Oh! fans as I seldom play the card game with my friends. However, it's really worth to play if you have got plenty of free time to spent.

Have you ever being angry with your parents?

Have you ever being fed-up and angry with your parents? If you don't, you must have a great personality and patience. On the contrary, if you DO, then you're just like me and almost 99% kids in the entire world.

Whenever your parent instruct (I prefer the 'instruct' term over 'order') you to do thing, such as mopping, cleaning or any other houseworks. Sometimes the result will not be the one that they had expected. In the end, you'll hear complains from them. Yet you didn't dare yourself to fight back or debate about what they're saying because they're far more older and much more experienced than you do. Thus, the only thing you could do is listening to their advice (they sure don't sound like advice to me, I rather called it 'scolding'). And when they have done and you walk back behind them, you'll just keep on mumbling at them. For real, I don't think any kid in the world will ever think to stab a knife at them after such incident.

However, the magical thing is - No matter how much you hate them, this hattress will eventually jump off from your mind. The next thing you knew, you'll probably end up forgiving them and begin to chat with them, apologize maybe? In fact, in Asian, it's very rare for a parent to apologize after what they had done (which is scolding) to their children as it's kinda embarrassed and may against some traditional to do so. So the best thing is 'forgive and forgave'. The power of LOVE and bond, who would have thought it will be such strong?

If you're wondering whether I'm involved in such situation or not, well I certainly did! Seriously, who wouldn't? Unless you're being adopted by a family who they torture you like their slave, you would definitely forget the revenge sooner or later. As for kids, they're usually more easy to comfort by giving them toys. However, for teenagers, it's all depend on their thinking. If they couldn't think rationally enough, they will leave the house and stay at friend house, probably for weeks, months. Who knows what teenagers would do. In fact, most teenagers would only decided to leave their houses if the parents is abusing them and they have capability to survive in solo.

Pokemon Zircon announced in Japan!

Like the previous Pokemon generations, it looks like the fourth generation of Pokemon games - Pokemon Diamond and Pearl - will have a third version associated with it.

Pokemon ZirconThe game is titled Pokemon Zircon (Jirukon in Japanese, which translates to Zircon), and although all the details are not yet known, some information about the game has been released:

  • Unlike previous third versions, which left the plot of the game primarily the same, Zircon will feature several large changes to the plot and adventure to enhance the story.
  • Giratina will play a much larger role in Zircon, and you will be able to encounter it before fighting the Elite 4. (How this will work exactly is unknown, because it isn't on the Sinnoh Dex... maybe you won't be able to catch it? maybe it will just have "???" for its number?)
  • There is a new area to the Northeast Island called the "Challenge Area," which will contain simulation fights similar to Pokemon XD, as well as some competitive-style battles with twists thrown in. (Sort of like the Battle Frontier from Emerald, I'm guessing.)
  • New applications for your Poketch!

Information is very limited at this point, although I am sure we'll be hearing more about Pokemon Zircon in the upcoming months before its release date, which is scheduled for Fall '07 in Japan.

April Fools!

Yes, as I'm sure many of you figured out, the box art for Pokemon Zircon was a fake. I tried to make it as believable as possible, and I've gotta say I don't think I did half bad.

Although I think some of the features I mentioned would be neat, no third version to the D/P series has been announced, not even in Japan. Throughout this whole thing, it really did make me wonder how the third version (if they do make one) Legendary will work, since the only other Legendary in the Sinnoh Dex is Manaphy, and you get that in a different way. Curious...

I apologize if I upset or mislead anyone, and I hope you enjoyed this year's April Fool's Day surprise! It's all in the spirit of fun...

Also, a quick REAL update: a bug in the size comparison feature of the Pokedex has been fixed. Now, smaller Pokemon should be displayed at their proper height rather than look reaaaallly tiny.

Popular Sites for Roms Download

If you are a Nintendo DS/Lite owner, have a flash cart, you would probably searched on the Internet via popular search engine such as Google.com by the keyword "NDS roms download". As you may know, you may probably having a hard time finding a ideal site which accumulate and organize all Roms with the exact order.

To make you finding NDS roms easier, I had decided to share some of the websites that offered NDS roms download to ease your searching pain.

  • Although this site does not has a decent user-interface or other graphic elemental design, just some plain text, it does offered every single roms that had been uploaded.
  • The only drawback is you will need to enter image verification code for each download. It's kinda hard to tell which one is o, O or Zero (0).
  • All roms are packed in .rar format to minimize the file size. HTTP direct download.
2. DARoms.com [General]

R4DS - The Next Generation for Slot-1 Solution for NDS

I believe R4DS is a term that is not uncommon to hear for Nintendo DS/Lite users. If you had visited their website, you'll come across the following features that will certainly take your immediate attention. Finally, your mind will tell you to buy it!

As stated in their official site,
The R4DS Cartridge is the current top-of-the-line in DS SLOT-1 flash carts. It is just an amazing little device like original DS cart size, it is a complete solution with no need to purchase any additional components or deal with any messy software and truly the easiest media enhancer you have ever done; To simply put it, this is a must have peripheral for any regular DS/DS lite owner.

I couldn't agree more with it as I'm also one of it's customer. Unless you're willing to spent every single penny on every single game that you wanted to buy or try, go ahead, I wouldn't stop you. It's your money anyways, not mine. However, if you are short of cash and want to play games that your financial doesn't allow you to, you can definitely try R4DS.

*See -> Read -> Think -> Discuss -> Buy R4DS

Well, you will probably follow the sequences above if you had not heard of R4DS before. What can I say! It's a number one flash cart solution available on market for now. If you had heard of M3Simply before, just to let you know that R4DS shared the same features as M3Simply. In other terms, how to data read and process is just about the same between those two.

Why choose R4DS instead of other flash cart?
Simply spoken, R4DS does not require the user to bypass or flash their NDS. Thus make it easier and safer to use compared with other flash cart.

So why choose R4DS in the first place over M3Simply?
It's simple. In fact, R4DS is always updated and till now, the kernal had been updated to v1.08. For those who not known, kernal is like OS for your computer. In R4DS case, the kernal is the brain behind it. The latest version had fixed a lot of bugs that occured in the older version and support Cheat function for your games. I doesn't prefer that though... Rumored had it that M3Simply does not updated much so may newest roms may not playable.

What's good about R4DS?
Like other flash cart, R4DS does support a wide range of homebrew (applications that used in NDS/L, in NDS, applications is known as homebrew) such as ComicDS, Moonshell. Moonshell is a homebrew that allow user to play mp3, watch video (in .dpg format) and even reading .txt on the fly. ComicDS is yet another homebrew that allow user to read comics in .cbds format.

So I had heard of R4DS now, where are these data stored?
Well, all data are stored in a microSD card. Beware of the word 'micro' as there are other kind of card such as miniSD in market now. microSD card range from 512MB to 4GB. Of course, the higher amount of the space is, the more files you can store. If you had installed Moonshell and ComicDS, with just a simple method of drag and drop, you can paste a wide range of files format such as .cbds, .dpg, .mp3 inside the microSD card. It's pretty simple to use.

What's the best microSD card available so far?
Grad you're asking. There are many microSD card such as KingMax, Kingston, Motorola, Sandisk and the list just goes on. I would prefer you to buy Kingston 1GB/2GB that start with SD-C01G JAPAN as a serial as many games does work with this microSD. Many other microSD card has failed to provide a smooth play with the game Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. In other words, the games will sometimes freeze or lag with those microSD. However, with Kingston, this game runs smoothly.

-> So why does Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin will freeze when played with other microSD brand?
As stated from someone else in the Internet, this game does require a microSD card with high speed transfer rate as the game read data rather faster than other games. I couldn't find out why though..

How should I know which game is playable with R4DS?
Check out this link. It mentioned clearly in that site so you won't have any problem finding your answers. Just use the 'Search' function and you'll get used to that long list. To make the user ease, all games are sorted by number.

Are you a customer for R4DS?
You bet I am. Or else, I wouldn't even bother to write a review regarding this product in the first place, would I?

Roms - Legal or Illegal, It's Just Your View of Perspective

Nowadays, you can crawl on the Internet and know many people had acclaimed that roms are illegal. Sites that offers roms download usually distribute notice before download such as [Please delete the file within 24 hours if you do not own it] or so on, I personally think that roms is legal, if viewed in other perspective.

The phrase 'sharing is good' surely deserve it's stand in this case. Most people prefer the term 'backup' instead of 'roms'. The 'backup' term sounds quite legal doesn't it? So how does roms created. Simply put, the rom uploader must first own the original game. Secondly, he or she must also own a cartridge reader in order to insert the original cartridge within it, and copy them (convert) into .nds format and distribute it in the Internet. If view in this perspective, people who uploaded the rom has only one thing in their mind, to make a backup copy for their game which they bought with hard-earn money (just in case the original game broken) and to share it with other people. Isn't that sound convenient enough?

In this century, roms is gaining momentum as the gaming industry expand. Such issue occured mainly because the hi-jack price for the original game itself, should it be PS2, NDS, GBA or other popular console format. Some online store such as PlayAsia.com do have discount for those games, but it's just rare. Even if the discount is offer, it's just decrease several bucks. Not many people are rich, thus cannot afford original game all the time for their favorite wishlist game. Instead of buying the original game, why not just download the roms, burn it (in GBA or NDS case, copy and paste it in a microSD and read by FlashCart). By doing so, one can save their hard-earned cash and spent it on the game that they really got interested with. For me, I only buy the original game which I wanted so badly. Which aspect did I consider? Well, it's the replay value of course! What's the point buying a original game which doesn't offer unlockables upon beating the game? It doesn't sound interesting enough for me. Unlike Pokemon game series, it's gaining popularity in all ages due to it's marvelous replay value. Upon beating the Pokemon League, one can battle with each other, capture all pokemon, customizing their party pokemon, and so on. They had only one goal set in mind - To complete the PokeDex and become the finest Pokemon Trainer, or should I say, Pokemon Master!

For some people who bought the original game, it's common for them to say that roms is illegal as they had spent hundred of cash buying the original game itself! Wouldn't it will somehow provoke them if you say "Hey! Look at him, so silly till even bother to buy the original game as I can get this game for free ONLINE". This kind of attitude does not sound quite right. In fact, like movies or mp3's, which one can download it on the Internet via popular file sharing such as the world acclaimed BitTorrent, Kazza, eMule by just a click on the mouse. Instead of going to the cinema and watch the movie on a big screen, why not sit in front of a computer, click on the movie that someone else had uploaded, and watch it directly in front of the monitor? It's kinda similar to the roms case. Gaming companies had spent millions of dollars trying to develop a certain game - hiring staff, electric bills, publicity, and the list goes on. Wouldn't it will be a little bit disencouraging if we didn't support them? If everybody is totally IN with roms, then a game company will certainly don't have enough profit for the release of a game. In the end, the company will not even bother to release another sequel for the game.

Let's use an example. If you're a mastermind behind a game titled Piggy Hole, probably also known as game programmer in the company. The game had been released for months now and you would like to see how well does the publicity goes. So you had decided to take a walk in a plaza at the afternoon. When you reached the plaza, you keep searching for the game that your company had designed. Ah, somehow you managed to find it all by yourself. Apparently there are two students standing beside each other and pointed their finger on the game.

Student Alpha: Hey! Check this out dude! This is the game that I had been looking forward to buy. I had read reviews about this game and it's totally rocks! The game is even got it's first place on GameSpot!

Certainly, as most rational and normal people would do, is to grin happily and embarassed for hearing such comment... You're even blushing on the spot! Luckily no one noticed... Phew

Student Beta: Let me ask you dude! What century do you live in now? It's not Stone Age as you know... It's 21th century we're talking about! You can find this game on the Internet, download it and burn it on DVD! Why bother to buy the original game? Check out the price dude! I can eat 10 meals in KFC with this kind of price!

At the end, well, you figure it out...

In conclusion, support original! Don't just buy any game you like ORIGINALLY! Read their reviews, discuss it and only consider to do so if you truly wanted the game and will not regret for spending your hard-earned cash on it! Unless you're rich, consider the point above for your own MONEY SAKE!
